Hi Folks,
Has anyone done a 3.1 Trooper front brake disc change?
I can't seem to get past the automatic diff lock assembly which, I surmise, hides a large nut which keeps the hub on the half-shaft splines. Or does it? Do I need a truck-size puller?
The workshop manual for this vehicle costs £800.00. Yep. Honest. Chilton Manuals do a generic one for a number of Isuzu models which ain't much good, so it seems.
Does anyone know of an independent in the North East/North Yorkshire who might know these vehicles? My favourate indy (Cental Isuzu) is 160 miles away, and I ain't going to a main dealer...

I take it you have undone the ring of nuts/bolts holding the freewheel hub on?
Sometimes these hubs need a little 'help' releasing their grip...they tend to stick on by means of a mounting dowel.

David,
Yep, the bolt-on cover of the diff lock was taken off, as were the ring of bolts securing the disc to the hub (pointless, on reflection, as the disc won't get past the hub.
I am being very cautious, being without a book, and because the vehicle is in daily use.
There was no sign of how to get the diff lock gubbins off to reveal a nut.
Or maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to persevere...
Any clues welcome.
Cheers
