Any idea what a 2 or 3 year old Tipo is like? Seems to be some good buys around.

Expect it to be utterly worthless when you come to sell it so buy cheap or you’ll find it’ll cost more to run than a dearer and better more mainstream model. The Tipo is nowhere near class leading but it’s not a bad car.

Wife bought a 17 plate T-JET Lounge (top spec), with optional safety pack) about 5 months ago and to be honest, it does what it says on the tin.

Obviously there are some aspects of the trim that is a little cheap and plasticky but its all solidly put together.

Get about 40-44 mpg from the 120bhp, 1.4turbo petrol - this is much better choice than the non turbo 95hp which is sluggish. The turbo petrol unit is alright, it won't light any fires and the response is hardly linear but its sufficiently flexible for everyday needs.

Has a 6 speed gearbox and the top gear isn't exactly long where 65 mph = 2500 rpm but I guess that is a good engine speed to overtake from. Torque is 162 lb/ft may be down with the competitors but it is more than adequate seriously.

Spacious, different and won't give you any headaches. Quite an underrated car but is ideal for the family and to get from A to B. I really like driving it.

Never tried one but you can get a new one for £11k. They will depreciate from there so it's no surprise there are some bargains around.

If you pay £7k for a used one that's the most you can lose.

Try one and see if you like it.

The Tipo 1.6 E-Torq was an interesting one. A 110hp 1.6 n/a petrol with a 5-speed auto.

They only sold it here upto end of 2017, then quietly dropped. There's six on Autotrader now - 4 estates, 2 hatchs

No ball of fire obviously, but anyone after a straightforward practical petrol auto estate could do worse for around £8k - for a two year old car with low mileage...
