Have a Red Peugeot 405 GLD 1990 (H) thats used as a second car, now too big so shall sell for a supermini, done 137K I defy you to find a better example, 55mpg nnil oil consumption, (oil change every 3K) plenty of history, any idea as to the value on a trade in/private sale.

thanks.

A guess - Private:-£500, Trade:-£300.

So you have a car that is fully depreciated, with Supermini running costs - so why change?

Agree with Trev - if it's reliable and you actually like the car, there's no need to change.

I doubt you'd get as much as £300 as a trade in though, unless it was at one of those £1000 minimum p/x places (all cars £2k overpriced). Probably a token £200 that could otherwise have come straight off the price of the new one.

If it's as good as you say it is, put a new MoT on it, as this will add much more than £40 to the value, especially privately. With a new MoT you might ask £600 and settle for a bit less than £500.

I'd pay, if I wanted such a car:

400£ with full MOT
100£ no MOT

Full MOT is 100% vital.

Think twice about changing it. If it's a good car it will not get what it is worth.

Blade,

Where are you located? If you are in Lancs/Greater Manchester/South Lakes, then I may be very interested in buying your 405. I'll ask the moderators to pass my e-mail address on to you.

Cheers

Blade,

Please e-mail me nonetheless, if you still want to sell it. I have family in Kent so I am still interested.

Cheers
