Best way to sell of an old car - No MOT - Warning

I was planning of selling an 2002 Japanese car. 80,000 miles.

However, due to lockdown missed my chance.

My MOT was due, took it to regular garage who told me informally it needs £350 worth of repair inc MOT. The battery is zero. Can't recharge it. Light don't come on.

When it does fire up by jump starting the engine sounds great. The garage mechanic said it is n't a write off.

Are there people who buy these things?

Advertise it as "Spares or Repair" be accurate with your description and include lots of good photos - ebay auction seems right for that sort of car.

Surely if the MOT expired during lockdown it was extended for 6 months automatically. Check on the .gov website.

Are you getting rid because of the repair cost, or because you no longer need a car ? If the latter, do as advised; if the former, get the work done and keep it running - it'll cost a good deal more to replace it.
