Driving to La Plagne. Heavy rain all the way from UK. Parked in minus 5-15 for a week. On departure, started but ran for 2 seconds. Repeatedly. Garage man said 5 others the same. Found a block of ice in rubber tube after intercooler. Next year same deal. This time saw rubber pipe to manifold sucked flat. Pulled it off to allow air in. Started fine. Left idling for 2 hours and engine heat melted ice and all OK. Q. Why on earth do LR rely on air bubbling through water, in the pipe leading up to the manifold, to dry. Cure. Either suck air in from inside the engine compartment instead of the side of a front wing OR fit a solenoid operated drain valve where water collect, open when the ignition is off. WAKE UP Land Rover.
