Suzuki and Toyota would benefit greatly from the introduction of a sub brand aimed at Dacia with previous gen platforms built in low wage India but with a different badge so they don’t devalue either brand. Perhaps a reintroduction of Daihatsu as a budget brand with a range of robust but simple models would see strong sales in Europe. Imagine a better made Dacia.

Daihatsu may no longer be present in the UK or Europe, but they are still very much alive and kicking. They produced around 1.75 million vehicles last year.

Correct but it would give them a known brand name for a budget offering in Europe again without damaging the name in other markets. The brand were known for reliability and value, this could be expanded upon.,
