Wrong date of test passed on insurance document - Soph_1

Hi all

I got my car and my insurance policy at the end of November 2019. I was just checking my insurance documents and it has my date I passed my driving test and also my mums date of passing her test wrong (she is down as a driver on policy). For mines it has a difference of 5 months but I'm not sure about my mum's date.

Should i tell my insurance about this? Will it be okay to get this corrected now?

You need to let them know there's been a mistake. Anything wrong can come back and bite you if there's a claim.

Assuming your Mum has been driving for years I don't think it will make much difference. A lot of companies lose interest in exact date if it's more than ten years.

Unlikely five months will matter for you either but you need get it put right.

If insurance companies can find an excuse to get out of any payment then they will, so I would suggest an email, or a recorded phone call and let them know today.
