Ford Mondeo ST220 2005 - Full Lock- Wheels 'Wobbling' - David Willett

When on full lock I get a sensation through the steering wheel as if the front wheels are 'wobbling'. It does not cause any noise. Is this a sign the steering rack is defective. The car is low mileage 56,000 and well maintained. Otherwise the steering is completely normal, no vibration and no 'dead spots'.

Sounds as if the power steering is objecting, you should only use full lock for the minimum length of time otherwise you risk damaging it

Have you checked the tyres ? Excessive wear on inner edges ?

Could this be drive shaft joint related? (is the 'wobble frequency dependent on the speed of the car?)
