Went to the dealer offering the staff discount yesterday. Told the dealer and was quoted without the benefit of the discount - despite providing evidence of qualification!

They didn't want to do the deal offered by their manufacturer, let alone come close to a broker price.

The best they could quote me was £498 per month with £1500 down on a £39k car for contract hire (a lease).

I could lease the same thing over the same term and mileage for £370 including VAT and £1300 down. They quoted the £498 after seeing the lease cost and still claimed theirs was the better deal because it was through them!

Now I don't mind paying a few £££ over the odds for a local dealer but not nearly £130 a month extra!
