Vauxhall Corsa - Advice re selling Vauxhall Corsa non runner - Kevin McGhee
Looking for some advice on what to do with my corsa. It broke down the other day. Timing chain gone and likely engine damage as a result. It’s 6 years old with 80k miles so not worth much now. Not sure it’s worth getting fixed or engine replaced but wanting to know what I might get for selling it as a non runner? Or how much it’s likely to be to fix and if it’s worth it. Any advice would be appreciate.

I have been in a similar situation where my son’s Corsa overheated due to water pump failure and drove it to destruction ( no temp gauge on Corsa D ) , just a “game over” warning light . I put the car on flea bay as spares or repairs , the response was colossal. Worth a try . Alternatively a s/hand engine may be the way forward.

Replacement engine prob £5-600 used; same again to fit it if you can't DIY. Values on Autotrader around £2.5k, depends on engine / spec / condition. That would suggests its spares or repair value is about a grand. If you can source an engine and someone to fit it, and it's otherwise OK, then it's probably worth fixing. If you can't or you desperately need wheels, then buy something else, and stick it on e-bay SorR and see what it fetches.
