Re: No hesitation

I was under the impression from reading other previous correspondence and posts on the Backroom that in a good number of cases, the so-called software 'fix' for the 1.5TSI kangarooing problem had not worked.

Re:That run down feeling

I bought a Yuasa YBX9000 series battery for my Hyundai i30, it lasted for 5 months before it failed. Although I bought it online from a well known chain of parts suppliers, I was able to take it into a local branch where they confirmed it was faulty and arranged for a replacement to be sent. Fortunately, I still had the original battery which worked fine, even though the dealer reckoned it was showing signs of degrading at the last service. Leaving a battery completely flat for weeks can wreck it, so check for anything causing a permanent drain when the car is left standing.

Incorrect "impression". HJ has frequently and consistently assured and re-assured that the patch works.

And yet I do remember people writing to him previously to say otherwise, and, if you care to search, the same is said on the Backroom forum and on the News section, as outlined below:

Then if your point is accurate, you should be taking this up directly with HJ, not a reader/contributor, who is commenting on what has been seen thus far.

You just know that by the law of the sod that guy will get in his Polo, it will start first time and he will drive away merrily and think nothing more about it!

Not too merrily one hopes, noting that the car is allegedly registered on a SORN and is already be overdue for MOT if the owner has been away for a year!

While a Tiguan sounds a reasonable choice as far as the access for elderly relatives goes, it will also be higher to lift the rollator and electric wheel chair into and out of.
