We have just taken delivery of the new model which is great but we have found some shortcomings that are a safety issue for the person getting into the car unless you guys know better and can advise.
When pressing the request switch (keyless) or the unlock on the fob, all the doors unlock, this is a safety issue for my wife as anyone could be lurking and jump into the car etc. Does anyone know how to programme the fob and locks, it cannot be done from the command screen. This link gives instructions but I cannot get it to work unless I am being thick here www.mazda6info.net/locking_unlocking_with_request_...l
The other question, is there a setting to close all open windows by pressing and holding a fob key? This does not seem to work either. Mazda service guys are no help at all but then again a few years ago I had to educate VW technicians that Bi-Zenon headlights could be adjusted for continental driving by using the computer settings in the command module, they were amazed!
The head-up display is slightly tilted, (not showing straight on the windscreen) even though it's at full rotation, is this common on the sixes?
Even the radio cannot be used unless the key is in the car which really is a bit silly. My daughter likes the music on whilst waiting but we do not leave the key in the car for obvious reasons. Anyone know any different?
So far we have found a big difference from our VW CC that had lots of features, radio worked without a key, security door opening, full closure and opening of windows when required. Only had it a day or so but finding small things that mean a lot and as its the top of the range model we expected these small things to be there. You don't think about it when test driving and if you did the sales staff would not know all the answers anyway.
The safety features, why we decided to change our car are good although the radar is a bit snatchy when seeing vehicles in front, it did follow a vehicle though and stopped behind it then set off when the vehicle moved again, a bit strange but useful in stop-start traffic. On the motorway and A roads, one has to pull out a lot further behind a vehicle if the cruise is active otherwise the Mazda slows down, which it is supposed to do, but overtaking needs to be done by pulling out much earlier.
The vehicle seems well made, is surefooted on our country roads and comfortable so a good choice we think and a few grand less than a new VW Arteon the CC replacement but not a patch on the CC.
Any of you knowledgeable people can shed any light on these small issues please do we would be very grateful for your knowledge. Thanks in advance.
