Honda Civic EP - Noise when turning - Loose spring/strut - Roy Brown

Noticed a a slight knocking noise when steering from the front after my MOT was done. Yesterday I noticed it got worse so I put the front end up on axle stands.

The spring on the right seems loose in the strut, however I can move the top of the strut around also? I have checked nuts on the strut top under the engine bay and they seem to be tight. When the car is on the ground this cant be done due to the weight. The other side is perfect under both conditions. The springs are lowering springs and the shocks look fresh.

Could be a broken spring or failure of the top mount bearing.

Lever spring at top using crowbar.. you will soon find a broken spring. And probably dislodge the end of it and make car undriveable if not careful

Thanks for the replies. I don't think it is the spring itself, it must be the top mount bearing as its really slack at the top (shock included)
