Peugeot 307 SW - Electrical fault - Marcus Edward Bulloch

Hi . Hope some can help

For no reason my p307 electric windows and wipers have judged stopped .

Checked all fuses . Ok

Disconnected and reconnected battery . Now they work , but only when ignition is switched on .

As soon as engine is started they stop working , also just noticed that rev counter is now not working , just reads 1000 rpm no matter what speed engine is at .

First item to check would be the main battery earth leads. One should bolt onto the chassis frame on the left side,. The other bolts on top of the gearbox .This is the one that regularly breaks off or fractures. This can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.

If you've had the battery off you first need to perform a BSI reset.

What's the age of the battery? Random unconnected electrical faults can sometimes be down to an old battery or failing alternator.
