Hi the side lights on the passenger side do no turn off can you help please

Citroen Xsara Picasso - Side light fault - gordonbennet

it isn't something easily overlooked like the indicator stalk is stuck on the left turn position...i assume here that you can leave either side side-lights on by pressing the indicator stalk the direction you wish to illuminate?

Pretty sure PSA don't use that system GB...

If it has a towbar fitted I would look there first. If not, then has anything been spilt on the passenger side dash? Quite common for liquid spilt here to make its way into the BSI which is under the dash. Alternatively, it could be a fault with the underbonnet fuse box, or the COM 2000 unit (steering wheel stalks - assuming it is later than 2003).

From experience on Peugeot 307s doing this I would say its a COMM2000 fault.

I've fixed a few of these issues by just squirting electrical contact cleaner into the base of the indicator stalk. Dust ingress and electrical contact wear over the years makes this happen.

But sometimes they do fail and need a service repair. There is a very competent guy called Graeme based in Bradford who repairs them for around £25.

There are also a couple of others who advertise on Ebay.
