Vauxhall vectra - Vectra cdti sri code - frogmarch

Hi got my Vectra Sri cdti 16 valve and when I sent to start it it sounded like starter was falling out and it started did not sound to good and spanner light was on so put code reader on and code p0340-26 refer to owners manual so done a Google and came up with camshaft sensor how can I test it to see if it is this thanks

Camshaft sensor what? Open or shorted to ground? Shorted to positive? Implausible signal? Synchronisation fault? Go on, give us a clue.

Hi just said refer to ownersi manual so I just googled it but will try and see if it comes on again as I cancelled code

Unfortunately,it is not possible to repair modern cars with fault codes and Googlefix. Sounds more like your cambelt timing is out,especially if you say the engine does not sound too good.

never ever erase fault codes,

it cures nothing and removes vital information.

Yh I'm going to look at it when I get a minute but went out to it today and started first turn off key surely if timing is out it would do it all the time ?

Hi on my Vectra cdti 16 valve it has what sound like a top end rattle for a while changed oil and filters but has not queitened it down , I so cheesed of with it that inpulled away in first gear and got it round to 4000 revs then all of a sudden there was no throttle and revs died down so changed into second and was fine , no lights on dash cash and drove ok but still rattles abit could it be lifters
