Is Lukoil from National Autocentre any good? - Ebob

I usually get a 6 month oil change at National Auto due to doing fairly high mileage but not enough to warrant an interim service at my local garage.

They used to use Fuchs Titan oil but have switched over to Lukoil, I can't see much reference to it anywhere.

I think any fully synthetic oil should be ok for 1.8 Avensis.

I've got it booked in however I might look at doing it myself next time. It's just a bit messy and by the time I've disposed of the old oil at my local recycling centre I'd rather just drop it off for an hour and go to the local café.

The brand of oil doesn't really matter, it's whether the oil's specs meet the requirements of your engine. As you say, it's unlikely that the Avensis will need a special / expensive spec or grade.

You could ask your local centre to show you what they use, and then you can cross-check?

If you google it you will find that they make a wide range of synthetic and non- synthetic oils that seem to meet various standards.
