Does anyone know if Audi put long life or regular oil in their cars from new please?

Many manufacturers use a unique initial fill-probably closer to long life.

With modern machining processes and tolerences running in oil that lasted only a few thousand (or even hundred) miles died out last century. As far as I am aware all VAG cars leave the factory with long life oil and flexible servicing meaning that regardless of which service scheule the owner specifies the car is good to go with only a computer tweak. All 3 of our recent VAG cars have been set to fiexed service by the dealer before delivery, its the only thing one dealer did right.

Thank you. Service indicator came on at 12 months old. Garage that I bought it from is telling me that oil needs changing. Garage that I’m having it serviced at is telling me that it doesn’t need doing despite the dash indicator. Both Audi garages. Just wanted to check.

Well, I have done some research and I guess the people are right, they use long life indeed.

This is what they recommend, so I am guessing they use an oil similar longevity.
