Vauxhall Corsa B - EGR valve - le Corsa c1.0

My Corsa B 12 16v (77000 miles).

judders when I try to speed up and has a fast idle.

my freind said dissconnect the egr valve connector and see what happens.

I did as he said and there was no change in the eratic idle.

Should there be a change in the engine idle or not?

I took the egr valve out and cleaned it .put it all back (Nasty job)still the same.

HELP pleasexxx

PS I have looked for leaks in the hoses etc couldnt see any traces.

Has the battery ever been out?

Or completely flat?

These need a throttle body reset procedure if either is so.

Yes it has. BTW what is a throttle reset I have no idea.

also would disconnecting the egr plug thing change the way the car sounds ,because I did that and nothing changed?

The Egr valve does nothing at idle. If it is operating correctly and fully closed,disconnecting it will make no difference.The Corsa B has a regular mechanical throttle body with a basic cable.The idle is controllled by an external electric stepper motor that moves the mechanical linkage.These are often the problem with idle issues.It is a Bosch part..www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-OPEL-CORSA-B-1-2-PETROL-199...l

If I recall,there is no battery reset procedure for these.However,if the system is operating correctly,then the idle speed can be adjusted via the diagnostic system.

oil leak - le Corsa c1.0

I have just purchased a Corsa c 02, 975cc.

I took off the timing cover because it had a horrid oil leak.I changed the crankshaft seal,cleaned all mating surfaces,fitted new cover seal ,applied cyclicone where instructed too.reassembled the timing chain etc, I noticed a groove in the crankshaft pully hub,it didnt feel to deep.I still have a slight leak not as bad as before ,would the groove cause the leak because I cant see where else the leak would be..The engine has done 100,57 miles.PS really getting into the nitty gritty now and learning so much from this site ty all xxxx
