Vw golf - Gearbox - Bumfluff

Hi I have a 2005 mk5 golf 1.6 auto when first driving it's OK till it gets to temp then when changing gear into 2nd gear it jumps hard any ideas how to fix this problem cheers

Could be something as simple as needing a gearbox fluid change. This is overlooked in 90% of autos sadly as owners scrimp on servicing. The good news is it’s not a massively complex DSG box but you should still seek out a gearbox or possibly a VW/Audi specialist to look at it and see if a repair is viable on an old low value car like this. Sadly VAG auto boxes were never great regarding longterm reliability, the Japanese are far superior.

When changing into 2nd gear nearly puts you through windscreen do you think changing ecu would help

It's had a full gearbox service aswell and it only happens in 2nd gear all other gears are fine
