The Prius will do 10% to 20% less mpg in the winter simply because the engine takes longer to warm up and you have a higher load through the alternator eg lights on. No need to replace just yet. The best weather condition are from approx 15C to 21c.
If you get the car serviced at Toyota they will keep extending the battery warrenty for up to 10 years and with unlimited mileage.

After having a locking wheel nut chewed up due to being over-tightened, and seeing it happen to two colleagues, I invested in a torque wrench which resides in the car. Whenever I take my car to a tyre-fitter or garage, I always swap the locking nuts for regular nuts, just in case. When the car is returned, I replace the locking nuts and make sure all the nuts are at the correct torque. Where the torque wrench is adjusted by twisting the handle, return it to minimum position when not in use, so that the internal spring is not in permanent compression.
