Vauxhall Astra H - Astra turbo - frogmarch

Hi got a astra h 1.9 cdti 120 on 2008 plate and turbo blew up now got another turbo and bolted on but can someone tell is there anyway I can turn car over without it firing up as want to get oil in turbo thanks

Disconnect the 4 injector plugs.Easy on these,they are right on top.

Hi before turbo went on astra cdti I had trouble with it starting then had employees light come on with code for cam sensor , was told it might not be sensor might be timing out due to the crank pulley Woodruff key wearing if it is this is the bolt holding pulley on a clockwise to undo or anti clock wise please

Hi before turbo went I had trouble with it starting then EML light came on with code for camshaft sensor but was told that it could be frank shaft sprocket key might have worn and put timing out but checked belt and put cam marks together and all seemed ok how far does it move , but I'm going to try sensor and putting new belt on

Hi I have done cambelt and water pump and used timing tools to line everything turn over by hand put everything back on started it up and it rattles and was difficult to start so switched of I just wondered if perhaps crank pulley might have moved and also it might have sucked debris from turbo

Hi with reference to my thread on astra 1.9 cdti 8 valve if I wanted to do compression test can I do it through injector hole or through glowplg holes as injectors haven't got thread holding them

Compression test done through glow plug holes with special adapter and diesel compression gauge.(petrol gauges no good on a diesel).access to the glow plugs is a little awkward on the 8valve engine and you may need to remove other components.

Ok thank I know they are pig to get too as changed glowplugs but want to get compression done as think when turbo went might have chucked some debris in from turbo as put belt on and engine rattles like hell

Hi on my astra cdti 1.9 the crankshaft sprocket bolt is tight and left hand thread could it be undone by hand with big breaker bar and perhaps a scaffold pole as need to check see if the pulley has moved as they reckon they do and put timing out thanks

Hi on my astra cdti 1.9 how can I check for tdc if you don't have tool to lock crank , I think crank sprocket might have moved but need to check if piston is at top
