Had both the Leon and the Ceed.
The Leon was a 2013 1.4 TSi manual, the Ceed was a 2010 1.6 CRDi manual. Leon averaged 45 mpg, Ceed 50 mpg so uless you are doing a million miles a year the extra cost will be meaningless. The extra fuel costs are offset by the fact the Leon was £30 a year VED, the Ceed £130.
The 2013 on Leon drives much better than the Ceed in every way, its a magic car.
The pre 2013 Leon was not a good drive at all and the interior was all hard scratchy plastics, the Ceed is far superior to that.
Both the Ceed and Leon were 100% reliable. The Kia dealer was nicer by farbut Seat Customer Services were truly excellent when the Seat dealer cocked up.
I would suggest that you try a 1.4 TSi Leon with a manual box. you will not get a better car for your money. Buying 2nd hand makes depreciation meaningless.
