Hello

I have a 2011 S-max with 225/50r17 wheels on it. I am off skiing in Feb and have a set of steel wheels with winter tyres on from my old Mondeo. They are 215/55r16. Can I put these on my S-max ok?

Maybe - you'll need to do a test fit, front and back to ensure the smaller wheels don't foul the brake calipers - you'll need to check that the load rating is adequate for a different vehicle - you'll need to check with your insurers IF that''s not a Ford-approved size for the S-Max - also be aware that you're speedo and odometer will over-read even more, by an extra 2.3%.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe will phone Ford to see if the size is used on S-Max.

If they fit,you will probably need different wheel bolts/nuts.

The Smax uses extra load rated tyres, which I doubt the Mondeo used, probably because it is a 7 seater, so you might invalidate your insurance.
