Mercedes c220 2006 coupe - Poor heater - ste f

I've got a 2006 c220 coupe problem is that the heater is eather red hot or freezing cold doesn't seem to matter were the temp dial is 18 22 temp does not change it only changes when I put it on 16 then is goes freezing cold
