Hello, Peugeot 307 1.6 HDI 2004 93K. Replaced turbo core with no boost gauge to check pressures so set stops to old measurements. blows the hose off the throttle vave body so guess as downstream of the intercooler that cant be blocked. anyone help on how howto to set stop? thanks, Mike

Several variations of engine and turbos fitted to those,

So will need the letters/number from the middle of the Vin code to have a chance of answering this.

Is it a 90 or 110?

Peugeot 307 HDI - Manifold hose blowing off throttle valve - strickjumpers

Hi thanks, sorry thought it might be a generic problem.

It's a 110 HP.

Vin code:- VF33H9HZC83714252.

Many thanks for the assistance, Mike.

Pertinant part of that Vin is 9HZ,

which makes your engine a DV6TED4.

Some of which were fitted with a DPF some not,

Which is yours?

Reason I'm asking is IF it's overboosting then it would definatlately throw a fault code for overboost and the EML would be on.

None of which you mention.

So I'm wondering about oil contamiation of the induction hoses.

Old clips or possible blocked DPF.

If you go to "Garret's" on youtube and punch in turbo replacement for your engine you'll see that fitting a new turbo requires a lot more than just that.

Folks that just fir a new turbo cartridge find out the hard way it last sometime only DAYS!!

And suppliers just will not honour warentee's unless the absolute correct procedure has been followed.

I'd say for now do not run it.

Hi, thanks again, already checked with Garrets.

Yes, Eml on. replaced turbo core and inlet guide vane ring. removed sump, cleaned and replaced oil pickup, removed turbo oil feed pipe and checked flow and also banjo bolts. replaced oil filter and oil, removed and cleaned breather system, cleaned inlet hoses and flushed intercooler. removed vac pump and cleaned filter.checked for black crudd round injectors and found good. engine very clean internally and not much evidence of carbonising, log book stamped up with oil changes and filters on time. less than the 0.3 liter flow at turbo return to sump.(worried)

looking to set up the turbo now and thats where the informaation on adjusting the stops and testing boost pressure comes in, could it be the inlet pressure sensor, does it open a waste gate? maybe not happening, i cant fing diagrams of systems, thanks, mike.

Forgot to mention it has PDF, this and cat remover and pressure cleaned then 27 quid can of cleaner squiretd into temp sensor hole then run 2500rpm dfor 15 mins till steam stoped. EML still on and has never been out since 5 minutes after i bought the car and set out on my 300 mile trip home with blown turbo. mike.

Comprehensive!

Only thing I note is the little mesh oil filter on the oil banjo is recommened to be removed and NOT replaced.

So code read it and post results.

Need to know exact "P" codes.

Ok,, little filter on banjo bolt also removed, thanks, Mike.

Hello again,

Discovered dodgy retaining jubilee clip on the manifold as suggested, thanks, replaced, now not blowing off valve.

Codes read revealing 10 faults ranging from throttle position incorrect to incorrect boost pressure, also, EGR short between pins A pin B.

codes canceled and only EGR fault remained on the computer, although EML light now off.

The car was then driven and within one mile EML returned with ping and antipollution warning.

I don't have a wiring diagram and looking to change OR cancel the EGR and hope the defect is internal and not the wiring. if canceling the EGR, I am looking for information on the procedure or a plug-in dongle to wiring plug after blanking EGR.

I was not in a position to return to have the codes read immediately after light returned, this would have been ideal but I am banking on the codes cleared being the historic memory from before turbo was replaced and after when the manifold hose was blowing off.

Any opinions and advice greatly appreciated, many thanks, Mike.

Good find with the clip.

As for the EGR I'm not a big fan of deletion

but it's your car.

As for the wiring

which as a French car can always be a problem,

I've come across the dreaded green verdigris in some very unexpected places.

You appear fairly knowledgable so I'd suggest a tool called "Load Pro",

If you can run to it it's around £70 on Amazon.

You will never be troubled by electrical problems again.

You tube it for a demo by the inventor.

Best purchase I've made!

As for the wirng buy a Peugeot manual.

The disk type is on Ebay for around a tenner and covers every Peugeot ever sold.

Though it does take a little time to learn how to operate the wiring diagrams as Peugeot don't really colour code but use Alpha numeric terminator on the wires.

But it's comprehensive.

Hi, hardway,

Just for info, I have been fettling large multi-engine turbine helicopters ( mostly French Super Puma family) for the last 40 odd year's and as such have a fair old knowledge BUT I'm, not a motor mechanic, infinitely more difficult nowadays no matter which engineers of the aviation type would argue.

So thanks, I completely understand the agro with the French way of doing electrical things.

.I also run a disco 2.5 TDI and removed the EGR which made a massive difference to performance and economy so assumed it would be the same here, but I will respect your judgment and replace the EGR and see where we go from there.

Thanks again, Mike.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
