Renault Modus - Renault Modus - Wipers and Lights not working - Paul Fulton

I have a 2006 Renault Modus and I am having problems with both the lights and wiper stalks. Everything is dead and non-responsive on both stalks apart from the left and right indicators on the left stalk and the water squirter on the wiper stalk.

When you use the water the wipers work fine, but when you turn it down to use the wipers normally it is totally dead. Same on the left one, the indicators are working normally, but neither the full beam or normal lights are coming on.

It almost seems as if they are frozen some how, seems strange when parts are still working though,

First job would be to check the fuses.Sadly,a real pig of a job on these,as the fuse box is buried in the left corner of the engine bay..There is also one by the passenger glove box.If these check out ok,then i would suspect a fault with the left stalk switch .The wiper switch connects into the indicator switch via a short wiring harness.
