Does anybody know the Bosch part number for the fuel pump for a 1988 Saab 900i 8valve? Mine is on it's last legs and I need to replace it. Thought I'd try here first rather than go to the hassle of removing the old pump, getting the part number, refitting the old pump and then doing the same again for the new one.
Thanks,
Boab

I'd have thought that your local SAAB dealer's parts department could have helped you on that one. If not try the SAAB owner's web site; they may not have the info but they will know someone who has!

the saab dealer will give him the Saab part number, which is only good if you want to pay saab prices.
if he can get the same part direct from a bosch dealer, my guess is he'll save 25/50%
Bigboab - your best bet is the bigger of the two owners clubs - officially i think it is the saab owners club of great britain, and they do have a web site somewhere.
If you are after keeping your 900 or do your own maintenance, the club is WELL worth joining. I used to be a member when i owned a couple of 96 V4s. They have what they call a 'technical register' for each model of saab, and 9 times out of ten somebody knows the answer

I know these are for the 16v, but I would imagine that the prices will be similar, or the products will be ok for the 8v also.
I couldnt find a price on eurpcarparts, but you could ring them +44 (0)20 8956 5000.

oops i forgot
www.saabscene.co.uk is probably the best saab owners forum that I am aware of (having just bought a 9-5)

No longer ask at the dealer because all they give out is the Saab part number, as somebody else said. Already a SOC member and have emailed the technical officer about the number, just need him to reply.
www.saabcentral.com and www.saabscene.co.uk both have useful forums but nobody seems to know.

Borasport. You are quite right, I should have read the original post more thoroughly and not jumped in with the obvious, but very wrong, answer! Grovel!

no sweat
I just have a rule in life that 'no money should be spent at a motor dealers that could be more effectively spent elsewhere'.
Not memorable, not snappy, but hey why should I pay for comfortable surroundings for company car owners to sit about in ?
