I checked with the supplying dealer - mine isn't affected apparently. Looking at the various Mini forums it seems it's 2014 and some 2015 cars that are affected - seen some posts where the bearing race seems to have worn/damaged the crankshaft depositing swarf into the engine necessitating its replacement.
