Vauxhall Combo Van 1.3cdti 2009 - fuel filter warning light - Glyn Houghton

Hi. recently had fuel filter warning light on dash, it came on then off immediately, but then had a drop in power, wouldn't go over 3.5 RPM. light indicates water in filter. New filter fitted - all fine, now after 850 miles, the same thing has happened again. Van has done 107k miles Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

Ir sounds like you have filled up with fuel with excessive water in the fuel. You may have to have the tank drained and filled with fresh diesel. Regards Peter

Thanks Peter, but why would there be water in the Fuel ? i did virtually empty a tank & refilled, but you think it's still contaminated ? would you think that it may be something more sinister.
