Ford Focus Saloon 2004 5 door - Noise from suspension? - MXH

Hi

I hear what can only be described as a faint 'bobbling' noise connected to the rotation of the wheels. It's only noticeable after 40mph and gets faster or slower depending on speed. The noise is still there if I depress the clutch and turn the engine off to coast to a halt. I think the sound is coming from the front wheels but I can't say for definite.

The car has done 132,000 miles and the tyres are fairly new, so I don't think it's a flat spot on a tyre.

Any thoughts please?

Wheel bearing?

Maybe, but I couldn't match the sound on You Tube. I've had the rear wheels checked but not the front.

I'm thinking perhaps too much vibration from road surface?

Possibly a brake disc so old the expanding rust is catching on something?

As the tyres are fairly new, switch front to back and see if there is any change. If not, it's not the tyres. Don't forget to switch the tyres with the better tread back to the rear afterwards.
