2009 diesel peugeot 207 5 door hatchback - Peugeot 207 diesel won't start - Racecaptain

Hi I have seen this problem before but not really seen a satisfactory answer so please can someone help!!

The car wont start, central locking fine, doors open on keys, ignition powers up, radio lights, etc everything works, but turn the key and nothing, the starter motor does not turn over ( seems to be a light click / ticking? In passenger compartment) the battery is good, fully charged and no current drop) I've checked fuses ( think it's the 2x 10 amp in fuse box in engine compartment, in fact checked all fuses and they seem ok with AVO meter!) It's done this before and on one occasion I needed to replace fuse on other occasion it just started working again, now nothing, but it bump starts and runs fine. I don't think it's the starter motor because it has been turning over fine before. It seems like a dry or broken connection or fuse box fault, what can I check and test? chassis number Vf3wc8hzc9e058847

I would recheck the fuses in the engine bay fuse box. There may be a fuse for the starter motor. The 307 models have one,not sure if the 207 does.Could be a yellow 20 amp or green 30 amp.

It could be dirty battery terminals making a poor connection; but it could also be the starter motor. We had a Peugeot years ago which did the same as yours, but only occasionally.

When it does it again, try rocking it backwards and forwards a few times with it in gear. If it works after that it'll be the starter.

207s suffer from water ingress into the electrical system. Check that out.
