Fiesta 1.4 tdci 2007 - code p0191 - Budgiestongue

Hi all,

ive just put a new engine in my fiesta 1.4 tdci and things i replaced from my old onto new engine where fuel pressure sensor as other one had broken connector, throttle thing ontop of engine, water pump, everything else came with engine. Once engine was in and i was happy with everything i pumped hand pump to bleed fuel, turned key and it started 1st time, so next day i started it and got orange cog flashing but started 1st time again, the problem is once i start it on the morning it will run as long as i want but once turned off it wont start again until next day? Ive attached photo of live data and code p0191 fuel rail pressure. Any ideas what could be the problem? Do i need a new sensir or does it need bleeding? Cheers.

With the limited info supplied,I would say the fuel pressure is too low.As to what is causing this will require further investigation and analysis.

It did start on a morning but wouldnt start after that wether warm or cold until next morning but now wont start as pressure too low only 96 bar instead of 120 so the ecu wont let it start, ive pumped hand pump loads and pressure doesnt rise.

Kind of answered your own question,

it has low rail pressure,

and the hand pump is just for brining the fuel up from the tank.

And has little to do with FRP once the fuel is up.

So investigate the low FRP.

You still have 4 injectors off the old engine yes?

Swap them onto the replacement engine.

Might be a faulty injector on the new engine.

Whatever you try the FRP has to be higher.

Frp apeard on my ff2 1.6tdci when I had a chloged fuel filter.

Leave the engine for an hour to run on idle so the new pum can be learned by the ecu and that way the CR can self bleed the air in it

Ok this is strange i still have p0191 code and changed the sensor for my old one off old engine, car wont start, i unplugged the sensor to test live and earth, 5 volts across so seems ok but this is the strange thing i turned key and it started without sensor plug in, plugged sensor in and it wont start? Starts everytime with sensor plug not on? Any ideas im loosing the will.
