2004 1.6 Ford Focus Estate - 04 MK1 Focus - lumpy when pulling up - hotFart

Folks, first time on here, I thought I'd get my thoughts into one thread and see what the collective knowledge on here can suggest.

Picked up my 04 Estate as a runabout whilst I took my Golf off the road last year. It's just about to hit 110k, runs fine, but I'm quite OCD regarding my cars running right.

I've noticed this problem appearing when pulling up to junctions or coming to a stop, there will be a judder, the revs will drop, it won't cut out...yet. Also, when I put a load on the engine, say high blower & front heated windscreen it will judder and the lights will flicker.

Now I've been reading around the internet and people have mentioned many things that it can be. I've replaced the battery, the idle air valve, the front breather pipe on the block, put a new coil on it last week, still juddering. The only thing I've yet to replace is the speed sensor on top of the gearbox. Would this be the holy grail & get me sorted? Replacing all these bits & getting nowhere is a pain in the backside.

Thanks

Instead of throwing parts and money at a problem, maybe consider a diagnostic check.

Even though there's no warning lights on the dash, decent diagnostics kit will measure the readings of key sensors and components and give an indication of where the problem might be.
