Cracked Transmission Cooler PK Auto - Liampo

Has anyone had a cracked Auto Oil Cooler on their Ranger (2010 75k)?

This happened to me while towing (close to 2.5t) through Central Qld recently.

The RACQ man was on to it straight away, and said it is not uncommon on PKs.

The cooler was sent out to have the crack repaired by welding and seems to be

holding up OK.

Should I completely replace the Cooler or leave it as is ?

I did a search of Ford Ranger transmission cooler on UK websites and found nothing - quite likely then that the Ford Ranger doesn't need a transmission cooler in Europe's cooler climate.

Avoid the link though, it could be malware!

Unless you can 100% garantee that there is not welding debris inside the cooler its generally accepted that replacement is the only option. A bit of debris could easilly wreck the gearbox.
