my 62 reg countryman with 6000 miles doesnt like hills. under normal acceleration it goes from 2 to 3000 revs up to 30mph and will climb up to just below 4000 revs before changing. releasing the throttle does not help.under slower speeds it changes up and down trying to settle. am told that car is in specification

What do you think it ought to do? What do you call 'normal' acceleration? What does it do if you put the accelerator fully down?

Its an automatic, what do you expect. Revs go up first and the speed eventually does but they don't rise together at the same rate.

If you want that to happen buy a manual.
