Audi A3 - audi a3 loss of power, idling poorly - ricky91

i recently bought an audi a3 2002 1.9 TDI with no warranty and it drove fine no problems. however when i got to below a quarter of tank of fuel the ESP light came on and at first i thought the wheels where spinning but then i started to lose power and when i hard acclerate the whole car shakes quite bad when in idle it sits rumbling and shaking. i put more fuel in and it stopped. then it happened again when i got to below a quarter again but this time i put more fuel in and it keeps doing it the car used to be quite nippy but now its more like a 1.2 than a 1.9TDI does any one have any ideas on what going on?

Good call on draining the tank, then i'd change the fuel filter, cut the old one open and have a good poke nose inside.

I wonder if some clot has been running this on comedy fuels or the wrong/neglected engine oil.

Probably easier to run the in-tank fuel pump ,either from the relay or power direct to the connector on top of the tank.

cheers everyone i'll take it to the works garage have them take a look, i have drivien about 400 miles since getting this problem is that going to effect it massively?
