This is a UK site (clue: honestjohn.co.uk) and you won't get many takers from here unless you're offering free delivery.

Either someone out there must be stupid and gullible enough to actually take up their 'offer' or the 'seller' (its also in the 'General Discussion' threads area) must be for thinking a 7 yo monster that can only do 18 to the gallon (and the smaller US gallon at that) and with 100k miles on the clock is worth £17k unseen...in addition to FP's comment.

They're getting desparate if you ask me. Maybe a beat up old Camero like Clarkson's one from the Top Gear US road trip next time - pay extra for a chalk outline in the 'trunk'!

And this isn't the place for advertisements, even private ones. Any others will disappear!

Am I the only one who noticed it has 2 different prices in the same advert? 27,000USD and $38,995 ?

Either way it seems very overpriced.

I presumed it was the 'new' price, but if not, who wants to pay £25k for a car that old that only gets 3/5 rating on HJ? Even at £51k when new (and over here - no doubt US prices are way cheaper than UK ones, as usual), half price for a car that old ain't a bargain (not even at the 'cheaper' price on the header. Note that I was presuming it was the 'Amazon' version as it had the V8 engine.

Maybe they were quoting Canadian dollars as the higher price? Nice to have a bit of Sunday afternoon fun over what is a very poor effort at a scam. Keeps the old British irony and sarcasm muscles toned!

Have you looked see how much they're asking for 2008 Amazons of similar mileage here?

I just looked, I'm never going to pay that for a used car!

Toyota heavy duty 4x4's do hold their money, we bought a Hilux new in 2007 and sold it 3.5 years later for roughly 70% what we paid for it, miantained models have one of the steadiest depreciation curves you will find, the only other comparable vehicle i can think of that does as well are LR Defenders.

That may be, but realistically there isn't that much demand for them (this country isn't exactly full of people wanting huge off roaders to pop to Tescos?), and especially dodgy US-sourced LHD models with (likely) no history or way or verifying any of the 'information' given.

I agree that they appear to be hardy vehicles - who can't forget the battered Toyota pick up on Top Gear! Still, I wouldn't have one unless I was a farmer or other rural worker needing serious off-road capability, and I'd go for the diesel version - I can't believe anyone in the UK owns the V8 petrol version (the fuel bill alone would bankrupt you) - if you want a flashy V8 4x4, get a Range Rover.

Just a bit of fun :-)
