Vauxhall Corsa C - Diagnostic Problem Not Showing - susiesae

Son had car this year it had it`s first mot recently on friday son came home from work and he noticed car was struggling on inclines.

Took car to a garage for a diagnostic and it showed gear box problems next day son went a journey of 3 miles again car struggled on inclines and on return home he found the coolant bubbling. He ran number on his warranty they came out and also diagnosed gear box problem they towed the vehicle away.

Yesterday the car was taken to a garage used by the warranty they state the fault is not registering but thye can see it as a problem so they asked the warranty if thy can carry out further tests and they not sanction this.

When my son spoke to garage they said they cannot look at the car till following Monday which will mean car as been at the garage a week and they also informed him he will have to pay for any further investigation surely this is not right?

If the problem was identified then my son would be entitled to a hire car so now he does not know what to do he is planning to collect the car back and try and drive it till the following Monday till the garage can investigate the fault further.

I am worried that if the car develops further problems whilst continuing to drive it then the warranty not pay out what a problem he needs to get to work the car as got a fault which as not been identified so he cannot get a hire car yet he needs a car.

What rights as my son got I cannot believe the warranty not pay for further tests and not supply a hire car so he can get to work

To start with, your son needs to READ, IN FULL the warranty terms and conditions. Only then will he (or you) know what his 'rights' are.

You say it is a Corsa C, but you also say that it's just had it's first MOT. The Corsa C was built from 2000-2006, so that can't be right.

You also say that your son had the car 'this year'. He could have bought it in January, so 11 months ago, or he could have had it 3 weeks. Also, if it is a Corsa C (so at least 8 years old), what sort of price did he pay for it. What mileage was on it when he bought it ? What is on it now ? Has he had it serviced in the time he's owned it ?

All rather important details.
