Anyone have any thoughts on UKPC parking fines? My vehicle received an PCN from UKPC for parking incorrectly within the markings of the bay. The ticket issued has an illegible Reg’ nbr and the make of vehicle is incorrect. I feel as the car park is free to customers any fine surely must be disproportionate as no losses have been incurred and the sign informing of the penalties for any indiscretion seem surreptitious as the font is so small.

Probably details like the make of vehicle are irrelevant in the eyes of the law (the concept of "de minimis"). UKPC do know your registration details if the PCN was posted. If it was stuck on the screen, and includes the wrong details, or if these are illegible, they maybe don't and I suggest you ignore the PCN.

The argument about proportionate charges I believe is valid, though I don't know any case history.

Just remember do not ignore PCN's any more, that used to be the advice but is no longer the correct response...as said, pepipoo is the source for this problem.
