Citroen C3 Airdream 2011 - Reverse parking sensor - amn

My parking sensor which was factory supplied has stopped working and I get a fault message on the radio screen

is this just my bad luck or is it a common fault?

Are the sensors in the bumper? Its possible someone has given your car a slight bump in a car park and damaged one of them.

A Lexia diagnostic will tell you which of them sensors is faulty.

Its the diagnostic equipment and software for just Peugeot and Citroen. It runs rings around any other diagnostic gear becuse it only works on Peugeot and Citroen cars and reads live data at a very detailed level, as well as fault codes.

Its the equipment dealers use (and sometimes charge £80 to diagnose) but there's a good network of clued up Peugeot and Citroen owners with the kit who offer their services for the cost of a pint or two.

Well in the end I took it to my local Peugeot dealer as same price and much more convienient.

they ran the diagnosic and reported a failed sensor likely to be due to a small bump. As they did not have the sensor in stock and I did not want to wait around I arranged to come back the next day.

Well blow me down if the fault had somehow rectified itself and because the new part was not in stock I saved the cost of replacing it

RESULT!!!!!

Good stuff. Its possible clearing the fault code got rid of the warning message.

Same price though? The usual dealer rate is £80+VAT, although some bill in half hour intervals and charge £40+VAT.

I know for a fact the person doing the diagnostic in Sheffield doesn't charge that.

Thanks yes I know about the Citroen rate

For me the Peugeot dealer is far more convienient as not only can I walk there I can also visit the shops nearby whilst they do their thing

It was only marginally more expensive as the peugeot garrage is much cheaper than the Citroen one (£45+VAT) and for that reason I get my car serviced there rather than with the main dealer - the only question this time was would their diagnosics work on my C3 which they did
