Toyota says a new compressor is needed ar cost of £1320 this compares with local quote of £390 plus fitting (they say it is genuine spare). What would you do. Also can compressors be repaired/

Unusual for a compressor to fail on these,what is wrong with your one?They can be sourced outside main dealer network as the part is not made by Toyota.Also they can be repaired,subject to what is wrong.

Waht would I do?

I'd have it replaced by an independant air con specialist. As the car is only 5 yrs old I'd have a new unit, if it were older I'd probably get a recon unit.

Can it be repaired?

Maybe. Depends what's wrong. Ask if there is any reduction for the old unit in exchange.
