2.0 petrol auto 2006 - Ford Focus C-Max Temperature Gauge - dogtanian1972

Hi, hope you can help. I have a Ford Focus C-Max 2.0 petrol automatic. i love the car and it is very reliable, though very recently I have noticed temperature gauge playing up. It used to settle after warm up pretty much bng on centre which according to the number was about 90oC. Now it tends to settle on about 70 and stay there a lot. When I pull up at junction etc it will creep up again but then soon after upon moving drop down again. On odd days it will just decide to go to the normal 90 position but following day there is the drop again. Car drives fine and hot air comes out the vents etc. Do you have any suggestions as do not want to start expensive problem solving at a ford garage. thanks guys

Firstly check that the coolant level is correct, engine cold.If this is ok,then you could be looking at a thermostat problem.probably not too expensive to fix.
