For a few days there was a bit of loss of power and when hard acceleratewitha blowey sound, other than that car ran fine. one morning went out to go to work, car would turn over but wouldnt start. Called recovery they couldnt start it, he spent about an hour looking, not filling me with hope, by telling me he had only ever been to one other car the same as mine. He had no idea what was wrong, did diagnostic, came back 2 fuel sensor errors, and maf error code. Called a mobile mechanic out he had no idea either, said could be fuel sensors or maf.(maf has now been replaced) My husband uplugged both fuels sensors, then car starts and after few revs ticks over fine, but still doesnt run properly. It will cut out. After googling found out that vauxhall had recall on fuel pressure regulator, so got it booked into vauxhall. get call today they said they changed fuel sensor and it makes no difference, so they put old ones back on (odd as they were on recall) They told me they thought it was a timing issue, and ask for permission to do investigation at £95+vat an hour!! I said no.

I just cant understand why it starts if we unplug sensors, but doesnt start otherwise, surely it has to be something to do with the fuel sensors if it starts when unplugged.

Any help or advice would be gratefully received

This will be the Hpi engine were the fuel pressure is critical. What reading did the dealer have on the diagnostic actual value data? You say it starts but does not run properly even with sensors disconnected,so in fact it does not run properly at all.Unplugging sensors puts the engine into emergency mode where the ecu will try to start engine on previous data stored.Timing chain is a very likely issue.

once car is started, the sensors can be plugged in and it stays ticking over fine. and as long as revs dont go low you can sort of drive it lol. vauxhall didnt give me any paper work at all, so i dont have anything to say what the values are.
