Ford Mondeo 2.0 Lx Auto Hatchback 2002 - Car will not tick over - Damcar

Hi to all

MY Mondeo starts first time in the morning on choke ticks over all ok go 5 miles to shop

come back to car it starts ok then drops off try again starts drops off i have to help the

throttle a little till it settles down then all is ok but happens again should i stop and start

the process again any one had the same problem ?

Clean out throttle body and butterfly flap.Also remove idle control valve and clean out any muck and grime.Very easy on these,it is right at front of engine,on inlet manifold.

Hi guys and Galls

looking for this idle control valve is it located on the throttle body and looks like

a cannister with a electric connector all conecnected to the throttle body

and if so will i need a gasket if i take it off ?

No gasket ,but re-usable O rings.

It's also called an "ABV"(air by-pass valve).
