Mercedes C200 Kompressor - Premature or Known Rust? - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}

An old gent I know replaced his E190 with a newer C200. Admittedly around 10 years old now. But after 18 months of his ownership the formerly very clean car seems to be rusting around the edge of every body panel. I knew there was a problems with some Mercs but shocking to see this.

Smack in the middle of the doom years.

I suspect it was tarted up for sale, cosmetic only no rust prevention, i've seen this model W203, and W210 E Class, literally riddled with tin worm long before 10 years.

Should have kept his 190, one i know of has just over 400k and still in good solid condition.
