Alfa 147 - V5C/3 not filled out properly? - Littlezeb

A man offered to buy my car while I was sprucing it up at the garage to take for an MOT. After a lot of faffing around I agreed to sell it to him. I signed the V5C/3 and he said he would fill out his address. Didn't have my glasses and when I got home I realised he hadn't filled out his street address - just an odd name and a postcode. Have I been stupid and am I in trouble? Very grateful for any advice.

Send it to DVLA as is. When you get the acknowledgement, KEEP IT.

Also, make sure you've cancelled your old insurance policy, so that makes it more likely that, if he is dodgy, then he'll get pulled over

Phone them. even quicker, and send document recorded delivery, but keep photocopy, and tell your insurance company.

If you have cancelled your insurance you will be able to see on www.askmid.com/ if he has insured it

Thanks to RobJP and Oldrover for quick response and advice

I will cancel my insurance. Bit worried as I went back to garage as he seemed to be hanging around there - he had gone but my (his) car was parked in the street oustide .He had told me this was free parking which I hope is true otherwise I will get stuck with tickets! I will ring the DVLA but will they accept a change of registration without a proper address??? I feel it could be dodgy because he told me to send the form to the Post Office, not the DVLA. Doesn't make sense to me that he wouldn't want the car properly registered to him. I am feeling very worried that I will be in trouble somehow. Feeling very stupid!

Use the postcode finder on www.royalmail.com to find the houses listed under that postcode and it may make sense.
