Pulld in to a Esso petrol station yesterday to fill up and noticed on the pump marked supreme 97 it said vapour recovery.

It didn't have this on the 95 ron pump or either of the standard or supreme diesel pump. What does it mean by vapour recovery?

I think it means that there is a rubber collar around the nozzle which fits over the filler hole. Any fumes are recycled back into the stations' tanks rather than venting into the atmosphere. They have it in the US and other hot countries.

Thanks for that. I thought it might be so that vapours didn't escape from the tank when filling.

Thought it was to recover from an attack of the 'vapours' at the price of fuel!!!

Loved the hamburger comments. Lol.
