Not so cars built after Jan 2014 do but prevoiusly not as i understand it ,I had a X type bought new with run flats and no monitoring system 2006 circa also a new mini of the same age also with runflats as standard and no monitoring system.
Strange that, had a 2005 Mini with runflats AND standard TPMS. The reset button was down by the handbrake.
This is what the AA says about runflats and TPMS
"If you do get a puncture in a run-flat tyre you might not notice, particularly on a motorway, because the ride quality will be very similar to normal. This is why run-flat tyres are always fitted together with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)."
This is what Continental say about runflats (SSR in their speak) and TPMS
"Thanks to their run-flat properties your Continental SSR tyres will make you more or less oblivious of any defect. The vehicle handles normally and you, the driver, have no trouble keeping it under control. To make sure you're aware of the tyre defect, however, your vehicle is equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system that alerts you visually and acoustically to any drop in tyre pressure"
