Peugeot 3008 - Tiptronic kick down - Itsmeagain

To overtake kickdown works ok but my gearbox does not change back up again. Gearbox works ok in all other modes. Dealer says in might be tyreware but not too sure. Not clear on the ling to tyrewear.

If you use the tiptronic to change gear it will stay in that gear till you use the tiptronic again if you want it to resume auto function then you need to place the lever in auto.Have you read the manual thats where I got the details from.When you put into a lower/higher gear using the Tiptronic its like using a manual gearbox it will stop in that paticular gear all day until you manually change it .

The problem is with auto change - not manual. I have to move to manual in order to change back up after an auto kick down

So its nothing to do with tiptronic side,if you kick down and hold the accelerator down it will stay in the gear it has kicked too if you release the the pedal slighty does it change up.

No it doesn't it stays in whatever gear it has changed down to.

How do get it back into a higher gear, it has not got paddle changes by any chance has it ?

If it acts as you say it does how can the dealers say there is no fault when one plainly exists.I would try a different dealer or take it to your present dealer and insist they cure the fault even it means the mechanic driving it for a good length of time and do not take no for an answer.

Ask the dealer if you buy new tyres all round and it doesn't cure the problem will he pay for them. Have never heard such rubbish.

On a pedantic note - unless it's a VW Group vehicle it isn't Tiptronic - Porsche has that that trade name protected but allows VW Group to use it since Porsche became part of it.

"Kick-down" is the feature in full automatic mode where the throttle pedal can be depressed beyond the full throttle position, against spring resistance, to engage a lower gear - reducing the throttle will restore normal operation.

So - kick down and manual shifting are mutually exclusive.

I have an old Peugeot with a tiptronic gearbox. It works fine.

Personnaly I leave it in AUTO all the time. The Auto should change gear using kickdown, if it doesnt then something is wrong.

One tyre was dirrerent model, same brand but little differences -> change tyres -> no problems any more.
